Twilight Elopement Ideas for Your Dream Hoa Hoa Wedding

If you’re here, it’s obviously because you have excellent taste. I’m an OG Twilight fan– as in, I went to the midnight release party for Breaking Dawn at Barnes and Noble in 5th grade– so I loove elopements in Forks and other locations in the PNW that give off those effervescent blue-tinted vibes. I love photographing days that just feel Twilight to me, so I wanted to put together this guide on what it means to have a Twilight inspired elopement! Choosing a classically Pacific Northwest location, selecting your date based on the likeliness of moody weather, and incorporating your favorite parts of the books or movies into your day will help you have a very Twilight wedding. Read on for everything you didn’t know you needed about planning a Twilight elopement!

Twilight-Inspired Elopement Locations

If you’re looking for Twilight vibes for your elopement, you don’t need to look any further than the Pacific Northwest coastal region. It’s exactly what you’re dreaming of: it’s lush, misty, moody, mossy, and the old-growth rainforest makes you feel like a spider monkey might drop down at any minute. Olympic National Park has everything you need, but you might also want to check out the Oregon Coast! The Cannon Beach area is where they filmed parts of the first movie– Indian Beach stood in for La Push, and you can hike right to it at Ecola State Park!

Beaches that give me Twilight vibes:

Rialto Beach (WA)

Ruby Beach (WA)

Indian Beach (OR)

Best time of year for your Twilight elopement

June on the Oregon coast, spring for rainforests, winter and spring for beaches

Best time of year for your Twilight elopement

For ultimate misty, moody, foggy weather on the Washington coastline, you’ll want a winter or spring date! There’s a high chance of rain throughout our winter season that doesn’t disappear in the spring, but clear umbrellas will only add to the vibe.

For an elopement focused around lush, mossy forests, you’ll want to opt for a spring date! We get so much rain during the winter that the rainforests are in their full glory by the end of it, with ferns lining the forest floor and green moss hanging down around you.

June is actually the best time of year to enjoy foggy beaches on the Oregon coast! You’ll find happiness in the June Gloom.

Ideas for your Twilight elopement

Play with lighting

I’m thinking lanterns on a foggy coast, sunlight streaming in through forest canopies, candles lighting up your table, string lights illuminating your hot tub… Embracing every bit of moody, muted, or interesting lighting will really help you lean into the aesthetic of the Pacific Northwest!

Incorporate nods to the saga in your details

There are so many subtle references you can make and so much inspiration you can take from these films! The movies might inspire you to opt for all white flowers, wear a long-sleeved vintage dress, accessorize with sparkly things, or incorporate apples into your decor. If you’re having any sort of table setup or reception space, you might consider leaning into the lush greenery we get to enjoy in the films– moss and ferns make you feel like you’re right there with them in Forks.

Quote the novels in your vows

Your partner doesn’t even have to love Twilight to enjoy one of the more subtle quotes about love! I told my partner about my unconditional and irrevocable love for him, and though we both knew where that came from, it went right over the heads of our parents and siblings that were present at our elopement. So without further adieu, here are some of the funniest and sweetest lines from Twilight to include in your vows:

“And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.”

“You’re like my own personal brand of heroin.”

“I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

“Mostly I dream about being with you forever.”

“No measure of time with you will be long enough. But we’ll start with forever.”

“It’s an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to, and who’ll accept you for what you are.”

“You don’t know how long I’ve waited for you.”

“I promise to love you every moment of forever.”

Incorporate the soundtrack

You might choose to have a first dance or walk down the aisle to music, or even just make a playlist for getting ready or driving around!

Best Twilight wedding songs:

  • Flightless Bird, American Mouth by Iron Wine – The prom scene in Twilight
  • A Thousand Years by Christina Perri – The credits of Breaking Dawn, Part 2
  • Turning Pages by Sleeping At Last – The wedding scene in Breaking Dawn, Part 1
  • Clair de Lune by Debussy – What Bella was listening to when Edward asked
  • Bella’s Lullaby by Carter Burwell, Dan Redfeld, and Elizabeth Hedman – Edward’s composition for Bella
  • Or, blast the iconic Paramore/MUSE/Linkin Park tunes that fill the soundtrack of the first film.

FAQs for a Twilight elopement

Is Forks, WA a good place to elope?

Yes, it’s one of my favorite places for an elopement! It puts you right near the Hoh Rainforest and La Push beaches, which are all beautiful and magical. It’s also where I recommend staying for elopements elsewhere in Olympic National Park; the Quinault Rainforest and Kalaloch Beaches (which include the iconic Ruby Beach!)

Can you elope in the Hoh Rainforest?

Yes, though you’ll need a special use permit if your group will have more than 6 people present (including me!)

What’s the Twilight wedding venue?

Bella & Edward get married in their backyard, but you may be looking for the venue formally known as Fern Acres, Evermore Haven, known for its Twilight-inspired package.
