With tons of options for lodging, the resort can accommodate groups of any size. The Inn has rooms with views of the mountains and the golf course, the Lodge offers panoramic views of the river, and the vacation rental homes give you a more private place to stay with all of your guests! Suncadia Resort Wedding Venues
When you get married at Suncadia, you’ll have a few different options for your ceremony and reception around the resort!
There are a few options for venues in the Lodge. The Strawberry field is an outdoor lawn behind the Lodge that overlooks the Cle Elum River, with mountains in the background! Inside the Lodge, there are ballrooms that can accomodate bigger celebrations, or can be divided if you want to have an intimate reception with family or friends.
The Village Amphitheater
This Suncadia Resort Wedding Venue is tiered, with outdoor patios that overlook the lake, surrounded by lush pine trees!
Historic Nelson Farm
The farm is a charming, rustic venue with a restored farmhouse, log cabin, and a barn. It’s surrounded by open meadows and wildflower fields that bloom in the spring, and a gorgeous view of the mountains!
The Lookout is mainly used for bigger weddings at Suncadia Resort. The big canvas tent can be decorated however you want, hosting up to 220 guests.

In the mountains around Suncadia, there will likely be snow until July. But the lower elevations get warmer beginning in March, and wildflowers start to bloom towards the end of May. When you elope, it should be all about the experience – making sure your wedding day is a reflection of the two of you and your relationship, and that you start your marriage off with a fun, unique adventure! As an elopement photographer, part of my job is making a unique elopement timeline for each couple, which means I’ll give you ideas and things to do on your day.
Here are just a few of the fun adventures you can have at Suncadia Resort!
- Go hiking
- Have a picnic by Cle Elum Lake
- Take a bike ride
- Sled at the resort
- Snowshoe the trails
- Cross country ski or go to one of the nearby ski resorts
- Go ice skating
- Hit the golf course
- Visit the spa

- Have dinner at one of the restaurants at the resort
Getting Legally Married When You Elope at Suncadia
To make your Suncadia Resort wedding officially official, you’ll need a marriage license! This needs to be obtained at any county clerk’s office in the state of Washington. If you live here, I recommend going to the office closest to home.
If you’re traveling, the Kittitas County office is closest to Suncadia. However, it’s often easier to apply at the King County office in Seattle – they’ll allow you to complete the entire process online and get your marriage license in the mail! After you get your marriage license, there’s a 3 day waiting period, and it expires after 90 days.
To ensure you’re legally married, an officiant and two witnesses will need to sign the marriage license.
