Would you believe me if I told you that, at the end of the day, Salitha & Namon confessed that they were crazy nervous for this shoot and thought they would ruin it because they were so “unphotogenic”? I couldn’t believe these two thought that they were anything other than absolutely, positively stunning – because that’s exactly how every photo of them turned out from this styled, intimate wedding at JM Cellars winery! Getting the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite local Washington wedding vendors on this elegant, floral-heavy shoot was a dream come true, and I can’t wait to finally show off all the results.
Salitha & Namon’s Intimate Styled Wedding at JM Cellars
Modern decor with a touch of elegance
As soon as I stepped foot in JM Cellars for this shoot with Salitha & Namon, I was floored by how beautifully every single little detail turned out, and by how perfect the venue space was for an intimate wedding like this! The vision for this shoot was elegance, luxury, and bountiful florals that would essentially serve as the star of the show (besides the couple, of course) – and boy was that vision brought to life. We wanted to keep the decor modern, with minimalist elements that would prevent too much distraction, but with just enough elegance to bring a touch of luxury everywhere you looked!
Honest Calligraphy put together the most stunning save-the-dates that featured the couple’s names front & center, Namon’s in a clean, modern serif font and Salitha’s in a gorgeous cursive. The soft, torn edges brought a bit of a natural feel to the elegant design of the invites, and even the envelopes were elevated & intentional with a stunning gold wax seal featuring a small floral design. Talk about droolworthy – if I were a guest opening up this invite, I’d be framing it on my wall!
Breathtaking floral design with an elevated neutral palette
Florals are always one of my favorite parts of elopements, but the floral design for this shoot absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. Sam, of Moonflower Design Co., wanted to show that a neutral color palette doesn’t have to equal only white or beige flowers – you can absolutely elevate the traditional neutral palette with a few soft pops of color and still maintain that elegant, luxurious feel. She designed the most breathtaking pieces that lined the ceremony arch from top to bottom, brimming with gorgeous blush & pale pink roses, soft bunches of smaller blooms, and plenty of lush greenery peeking out everywhere you looked.
Along with the dreamy floral-covered arch, Sam also created a variety of beautiful arrangements to decorate the dinner table featuring the same elevated color palette & luscious roses, as well as a few individual flowers near each plate. Salitha’s bridal bouquet matched the elegant beauty of the rest of the floral design, a medium-sized bouquet with a mix of textures, layers, and colors that blended together flawlessly. I loved the added touch of the gold ribbon draping down from the stems, too!
The intimate wedding reception of my dreams
A tablescape covered in whimsical florals, pastel-colored candles, modern + minimalist dinnerware, and mismatched champagne glasses? I couldn’t have dreamt it up any better! The fruit decorating the table was such a fun added touch, and the wooden chairs kept the setup minimalist yet elegant as can be.
Now, let’s take a quick peek at the cake that Kenna put together, because wow was it the tiered wedding cake of my dreams. Standing on a beautiful wooden pillar, this four-tiered cake was covered not only in vines & flowers made of white frosting, but also hand-crafted, edible flowers – what?! Kenna made each of these flowers by hand out of edible material, so there was no need to pluck them off before the cake cutting, you could just eat them! So genius and unique!!

About JM Cellars, a Stunning Woodinville Wedding Venue
I wanted to take a minute to highlight this lovely, lovely venue, because it is one of my all-time favorites & is an incredible option for intimate weddings. JM Cellars is a family-owned winery in Woodinville, WA, about 30 minutes north of Seattle, and was actually voted Best Winery & Best Rehearsal Dinner Venue by Seattle Bride! When you get married at JM Cellars, you’ll have exclusive use of not only the cellars, but also the arboretum as well as a private home for you to get ready in.
One of the most notable features of this venue, in my opinion, is that instead of having a “bridal suite” and then a getting ready room in the basement for grooms (like many venues have), the space is free from gendered names and has room for everybody to get ready in equally beautiful areas! With spacious rooms, a variety of helpful on-site amenities, a pool table, a library, a full kitchen, and plenty of hanger & hooks to hang your outfits on, JM Cellars has truly turned the private home (aka the JM Loft) into a lovely space for couples and their wedding parties to get ready in.
JM Cellars can host weddings of up to 100 guests, making it a wonderful venue for traditional weddings on the smaller end, or intimate weddings of 40-50 people. I’m always a proponent of having fewer guests as it allows you to spend your money on the things that matter to you, whether that’s food, or your guests’ experience, or intricate details. This is a really, really beautiful space for an intimate celebration that both you and your guests will love being a part of, with rustic decor, gorgeous furniture, and a variety of spaces to enjoy!
And if you were hoping that a winery as beautiful as this one would have a variety of photogenic spots, then you’re in luck! JM Cellars has so many gorgeous features and spots to stop at for portraits of the two of you, or for your wedding party photos. There are two sets of doors that are particularly iconic to the venue: iron ones in the front, and glass ones in the back. But my personal favorite spot on the property is the black wall (which you can see behind the cake photos in this blog) – it makes for the perfect backdrop for a gorgeous cake display like the one from this shoot, or for some stunning portraits!
