Golden Gardens Elopement

One of my favorite things about living in Seattle is that right here in the city, you’ll find incredible places like Golden Gardens- gorgeous beaches surrounded by mountains and forests. Working with Seattle Brides on planning, Reclick Creative on video, Makeup by Nikki on hair and makeup, and yours truly for these photos, we put together a styled shoot to showcase the beauty of a Golden Gardens elopement!

Golden Gardens Elopements

The parking area for Golden Gardens is big, but it does get busy – so plan to elope on a weekday! A sunrise ceremony is the best way to avoid crowds, but later in the evening you’ll usually find fewer people around as well.

The best time to elope is in September or October. Summer is the most popular time at Golden Gardens, and while the weather is warm and perfect for couples who want to get in the water for swimming, boating, or paddle boarding, there will inevitably be a lot of people around. Early fall is still warm and sunny, but much less crowded!

Around the end of October through May, Seattle’s long rainy season begins – it’s a little chillier, but bring an umbrella and some layers, and you’ll likely have the place to yourself in this off season.

When you elope at Golden Gardens, you can explore the sandy beach, wander “The Grove” where trees enclose part of the beach, go to the wetlands to see some ducks, get in the water, or make a bonfire in one of the fire pits!

Golden Gardens Wedding Permits

When you get married at Golden Gardens, you can reserve the Bathhouse if you’re planning a big wedding. The waterfront location can host up to 140 people, but if you’re planning an intimate elopement, you can get married right on the beach!

A ceremony fee is required, and the Golden Gardens wedding permit costs $170 per hour, with a two hour minimum. You can also reserve a picnic area, with tables under a shelter for $75 – this covers half a day, and you can choose either 8 – 2:00pm or 3 – 10:00pm. This is perfect if you want a spot for dinner, cake, and celebrating with a few friends or family members after your ceremony!
