Get In Touch
From the first moment I met them, Ambyr and Lacey knew that their goal was to create a low-key, easy-going event for their guests to LOVE and enjoy — and they delivered! Their party was truly a party; though it incorporated reception elements (like sweet first dances with Dad, a grand entrance and speeches) it was at heart, just a raging party for people to enjoy themselves. Ambyr & Lacey danced all night, their friends broke it down, and even got Grandma in on the action! It was such a joyful event at Cathedral Seattle in Ballard. I was smiling all night long!
They met where all great love stories begin: Tinder. Ambyr is from the midwest, Lacey was born and raised in Washington. They love travel and adventure, trivia nights in Capitol Hill, and spending time with their pets– a cute old dachshund and two cats named Rye and Mezcal.

Winter Wedding Inspiration
Ambyr and Lacey’s wedding party wore emerald green, sapphire blue, mustard yellow in all types of fabrics. Bold colors for their friends’ bold personalities! These friends are their chosen family.
They incorporated lots of personal touches into their own outfits, too. Sparkly boots, a fun broach, and jackets that made them both feel their best. Their detail photos were SO much fun — getting to document everything from their jewelry to their perfume to their vow books and purses really added to their gallery and helps round out the story of their day. These personal touches can make the day so much sweeter!
They even had signature cocktails — and served them to every single guest themselves! It gave them the perfect opportunity to say hello to everyone during cocktail hour in a way that’s engaging and fun. It was so sweet, worked super well, and was probably the most original thing I’ve seen at a wedding!
They also had mini champagne bottles with custom labels of a hand-drawn portrait of their little family! And, each guest got to take home a vintage cocktail glass that they collected for the wedding.

The Venue: Cathedral Seattle
Cathedral Seattle is such a distinct, special venue. They donate all their profits to charity. The exposed brick, historic air, and spacious rooms were perfect for the joyful, unique celebration that Ambyr and Lacey had. It’s perfectly located, too — I had Ambyr and Lacey do their portraits over at Ballard Locks, which is super close by and turned out to be a gorgeous spot.
Special Moments
Every wedding has a certain something special that I love. A twist on tradition, a heartfelt speech, an electric reception. For Ambyr and Lacey, it was their officiant, also their best friend, who quoted the Obergefell ruling on marriage equality during the ceremony. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.
“No union is more profound than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity, devotion, sacrifice, and family. In forming a marital union, two people become something greater than once they were. As some of the petitioners in these cases demonstrate, marriage embodies a love that may endure even past death. It would misunderstand these men and women to say they disrespect the idea of marriage. Their plea is that they do respect it, respect it so deeply that they seek to find its fulfillment for themselves. Their hope is not to be condemned to live in loneliness, excluded from one of civilization’s oldest institutions. They ask for equal dignity in the eyes of the law. The Constitution grants them that right.”
