Wondering what it looks like to have a luxury elopement in 2026? Fear not: I’ve created this guide just for you, dedicated to helping you plan an upscale elopement experience you’ll never want to forget. We’ll be covering what it means– and why it’s so crucial– to align your values with your investments, hire the right vendors, and pay attention to even the tiniest of details! I hope you’re as excited as I am 🙂
What Defines a Luxury Elopement?
I think the word “luxury” can get a little bit of a bad rap in the wedding and elopement world! Some people assume that to have a high-end celebration, you have to go through a wildly stressful planning process, want a super strict timeline, or envision a day that feels very… grandiose. Elegant. Sophisticated.
While these can all be elements of a luxury wedding, they don’t have to be; I personally define “luxury” very differently. I simply see a luxury elopement as one that feels stress-free, effortless, beautiful, and intentional; “elevated” rather than elegant, and “refined” rather than super sophisticated. You get what I’m saying?
You don’t need to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in order to have a luxurious, lavish elopement– in fact, you’ll soon learn that it’s more about where your money goes than how much you spend.
P.S. Feel free to create your own definition of “luxury” when planning your elopement! There is no right or wrong here, no rules that you have to follow. You know you best 🙂
Can a luxury elopement still be adventurous?
Absolutely! I wouldn’t be writing this guide otherwise. I love me a good adventure elopement, whether that means riding a seaplane, tackling a challenging backpacking route, or simply taking a gorgeous walk along a scenic stretch of coast. There are MANY ways to elevate an elopement and still keep it adventurous… and vice-versa! I’ll take you through of my favorite ideas in the next section, so don’t leave just yet!

10 Tips for Planning Your Luxury Elopement
1. Identify what you value most
Really, this should be the first step in your planning process no matter what type of celebration you’re having! Before anything else, dedicate time to figuring out what you value most– and, equally as important, what you don’t value quite as much. Luxury elopements are all about creating the easiest, most joyful day possible, enhanced by elements such as details, aesthetics, vendors, and locations that are important to you.
To get started, you can go through the list below and highlight/take note of the items that are absolute must-haves– the things you value MOST, and know your elopement wouldn’t be complete without. For some couples, your florals and food may be the most important elements. For others, maybe it’s the venue and accommodations that take priority!
Next, pick out the ones that would be nice to have– they’re not essential to your day, but you’d love to have them if time + money allow.
Finally, note the ones that don’t hold as much importance to you! Don’t overthink this or judge yourselves for it– you don’t need to concern yourselves with trends or aesthetics, or conform to any traditions just because you think you’re “supposed to.”
- An incredible venue
- Stunning floral design
- Delicious food and drinks
- Intimate conversations around the dinner table
- Elopement attire that screams “you”
- Intentional, meaningful details
- A refined aesthetic/tasteful decor
- A warm, intimate atmosphere
- Spacious, lavish accommodations
- Feeling like your best, most beautiful self
- Mouthwatering baked goods and desserts
- Memorable activities + experiences
- Romantic, private time together
- Planning support and effortless timing

2. Invest in the things that matter to you
Remember how I said that “luxury” elopements are more about where your money goes, rather than how much you spend? Write that down on a Post-It, save it to your Notes app, or memorize it forever– because it is truly the #1 thing I want you to remember from this guide. Even if you remember NOTHING about how to elevate your elopement with luxurious details, meals, or experiences, I hope you’ll remember that your biggest goal should be to put your money where it matters.
Hopefully by now, you’ve gotten a headstart on identifying exactly what matters to you, thanks to those fabulous instructions I gave you above 😉
Your version of luxury might look like…
Having a completely stress-free experience with a private driver and chef to take care of the logistics
Feeling wildly confident in designer attire that fits you like a glove, accentuates all your best features, and showcases your unique personality
Having a super beautiful outdoor dinner where you’re surrounded by lush flowers and a fancy tablescape
Staying at a high-end hotel where you can be pampered day in, day out and feel at ease on the big day
Booking the biggest, nicest Airbnb in the area so that all of your guests have a cozy place to stay– and so you get to enjoy more quality time together
Once you’ve identified where your values lie and what is most important to creating your magical day, it becomes way, way easier to know how to allocate your budget. And you’ll be much more confident knowing that every dollar you spend is making an important, intentional impact!

3. Be intentional about your details
Speaking of being intentional, let’s talk elopement details! And by “details,” I mean any of the smaller things that make up the larger day itself… rings, vow books, jewelry, decor, even down to your napkins and silverware.
A little extra thought can go a LONG way when it comes to your details, and can really help elevate your aesthetic + add to your experience without much effort at all. By paying even a tiny bit more attention to colors, textures, shapes, and patterns, and romanticizing every little thing, you’ll wind up with a whole, beautiful elopement story where every element matters.
When you’re planning out a seemingly small detail, ask yourself these questions:
- How can we make this feel even more personalized to us/our unique relationship?
- How could this be a little more beautiful, romantic, or meaningful?
- How could this make a bigger impact on our day?
- What is this adding to our experience, and could we enhance it further?

Here are a few examples of elevated, intentional details to show you what I mean:
- Personalized ring boxes
- Leather vow books
- Heirloom jewelry
- Stylish bud vases
- Beautiful glassware
- Textured ribbons around your bouquet
- Cohesive, curated plates and silverware
- High-end perfume/cologne
- Embellished attire with details/appliqués
- Designer shoes
- Eye-catching hairpieces
- Lush floral displays

4. Consider hiring a planner
I don’t usually recommend hiring a planner for a two-person elopement, but if you’re planning a special meal, intricate decor, or coordinated activities, the support of a planner can be a game-changer! Planners make a world of difference when it comes to executing day-of plans, organizing logistics, coordinating details, and overall just taking a whole lot of stress off your plate– so you can sit back and bask in the beautiful day you’ve worked so hard for. Simply put, if having a seamless, low-stress elopement is a top priority for you, I’d consider investing in a planner to have by your side.

5. Hire a private chef
Just as planners can really make a huge impact on the feel + flow of your elopement, private chefs can be an incredible investment to help elevate your experience. With a planner to help set up rentals + decor and a chef to cook delicious dishes, you simply get to enjoy it all alongside your guests (if you’re having any)! I specifically recommend private chefs over cateresr as they’re able to personalize your entire experience and curate a menu just for you– even better, they’re used to traveling to more remote locations for elopements. Whether you’re craving a fancy-schmancy brunch, an elaborate 5-course dinner, or a family-style meal, private chefs will cater a spread just for you and your people– without any effort on your part. The dream, am I right?
(P.S. Their food will also be VERY photogenic and stunning! Win-win!)

6. Have a fancy picnic
If you do a picnic, do it fancy! I’m all about making your meals beautiful and special, whether you’re bringing in a private chef or packing up a picnic to take out into the wild. Maybe that looks like setting out a beautiful blanket and munching on a gorgeous charcuterie board, or maybe that looks like a full-fledged tablescape with lush florals, decor, and formal plating. Either way, I recommend renting flatware and decor that looks a thousand times better than plastic forks and plates and is way more sustainable!
Pro tip: Hire a professional to handle the hard work! I promise you and your guests will not want to have to set everything up, pack it up, and take it a way… let a pro deal with it.

7. Book luxurious accommodations
Accommodations can really make or break your elopement, and I don’t think enough couples realize that! Booking an Airbnb, hotel, or resort with amazing reviews, luxurious amenities, and cozy furnishings can elevate your experience immensely– because the evenings and moments in-between the big events are just as important.
This could mean booking a room in a high-end hotel like Amangiri, a five-star resort in Utah with a luxury spa, in-house restaurant, private retreats, and glorious desert landscapes. Or it could mean choosing the nicest Airbnb on the Olympic Peninsula for all your guests to enjoy… or maybe a fancy glass house in Iceland (like this one)! The options are endless, and I promise that a higher investment in the place you stay is more than worth it for the payoff you get: good sleep, lots of pampering, incredible views, and a really beautiful place to spend time with the people you love most.

8. Wear designer/luxury wedding attire
When it comes time to pick your outfits (exciting!), choosing designer attire OR just pieces that fit you really well is key to an elevated look. It doesn’t have to be Gahlia Lahav to be gorgeous! Think: custom-fitted gowns, tailored Indochino suits with your elopement date embroidered into the jacket, personalized cuff-links, or designer footwear. My top two tips: focus on fit and think of your outfit as something that enhances your elopement day, not just something you wear!

Pro tip: If buying high-end attire isn’t in your budget, consider renting instead! There are tons of companies out there that offer temporary rentals of luxury attire, details, and accessories for a MUCH lower cost. Just make sure you receive your items early enough to try on + ensure they fit, and that you’d have time to return or exchange for a different option if need be.

9. Hire a luxury elopement floral designer
There’s a HUGE difference between buying flowers from a grocery store, hiring a florist, and hiring a luxury florist. While you can absolutely grab flowers from your local Trader Joe’s if that’s what your unique day calls for, there is something to be said for hiring an expert who knows what they’re doing!
Luxury florists will make the difference between your flowers just looking like a prop that somebody randomly threw in, and looking like individual pieces of art that belong in a museum. There are plenty of ways to elevate your elopement through florals, including bouquets, boutonnières, hairpieces, bud vases, or even a few decorative flower petals in your detail photos. Flowers really do just make everything feel more beautiful and joyful!

10. Book a luxury elopement venue
Finally, if you’re searching for a venue to host your elopement, make sure it’s up to par with the expectations you have for your day. Depending on your budget, guest count, and the scope of your elopement, you might consider picking an all-inclusive venue to make your life easier. An all-inclusive elopement venue package could include things such as…
- A high-end caterer or in-house chef
- On-site accommodations
- Activities, excursions, and personalized experiences
- Spa and/or salon services
- Multiple locations to use throughout the day
- Trusted local vendor recommendations
I am once again throwing in a recommendation for venues like Amangiri, which include all of that and more: five-star accommodations, wellness offerings, national park experiences, dramatic landscapes… the list goes on.
