rainForest elopements in Olympic National Park

The Hoh Rainforest is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and magical places in the world– it’s quiet, serene, and so lush. You feel wonderfully small walking amongst these ancient giants that have been standing for so many generations, and I can’t imagine a better place to profess your love to your partner.

My #1 recommendation if you’re looking for Twilight vibes here in the Pacific Northwest!

Best pairs with these locations:

Sol Duc Falls

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Let’s review some frequently asked questions about eloping in the Hoh Rainforest!

Often mild! The Hoh Rainforest is accessible and beautiful year-round. It’s also wet, of course– the Hoh Rainforest averages 144 inches of rain per year. But don’t let that discourage you! Rainy weather makes for wonderfully moody portraits, and the wet is what makes the rainforest so fantastically lush and green.

Only if there will be more than 5 people total! Olympic National Park doesn’t require any sort of special use permits for groups smaller than 5. If our party will be larger than that, the permit process is super easy and I’m more than happy to walk you through each and every step! And for more information, read everything you need to know about getting legally married in Washington state right here!

Unfortunately, this area of the park is not pet-friendly! Any pets that aren’t a service animal must be left at your pet-friendly airbnb, or at home. For other location ideas thorugh, you can see more about pet-friendly elopements here.

The Hoh is beautiful and accessible year-round, but it really shines in the winter and spring months! The greenery is extra lush, and the trails are far less crowded than they are during the summer.

To be honest, not a whole lot! The Hoh Rainforest visitor center is about an hour away from the closest town of Forks, Washington. You can stay in a motel or airbnb in town, or choose to camp in the rainforest! Reservations are required to camp between June 13–September 8, 2025. See more information here.

The main thing is that it’s super important to stay on trail!! A lot of folks tend to wander off into the ferns to get a closer look at the trees, but the flora is very fragile and can be permanently damaged by every footstep off trail. So do your part to stay on the main path– don’t worry, I’ll still make sure we get some INCREDIBLE photos that don’t require harming the plants!
